Kashmir’s Khalid Wani ranked as one of India’s top technology business leaders.

Khalid Wani from Kashmir who is the Director sales of Western Digital in India has been named as one of the top technology business leaders of the country by Digital Terminal (DT). The company offers more progressive solutions for data storage.

Khalid is featured in DT YearBook alongside the likes of Amar Babu, President, Lenovo Asia Pacific, and Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft.

This is another feather in the cap of the man known as the driving force behind 1Tb SD card. The focus of Western Digital and Khalid Wani remains data backup and provide advanced storage solutions.

They aim to help and guide content creators to effectively stocking up data and prevent its loss at a crucial juncture.

Khalid mentions how data consumption remains at peak, especially during these times of pandemic, where OTT content has taken over.

“With almost everything shifting digital platforms, we are amidst of a huge deluge of data creations and consumption. India’s data consumption grew at a scorching pace with demand on OTT and VoD platforms rising by a whopping 94.7% compared to what it was in February 2020”, he said in an interview with DT.

Asked about the top product offerings by Western Digital in 2021, he said, “Recently we have introduced a portable SSD range- San Disk portable SSDs that offer nearly 2x the speed over previous generations.

We also launched MyWD Passport SSD for working professionals, which will go a long way in helping them manage their day-to-day content effectively.

Khalid Wani bio:

Having completed his graduation in Delhi, Khalid went abroad to pursue his Masters’ degree from University of Wollongong. While still a student he started working part time at ‘General Electric’ displaying a verve working in an international corporate set up.

From there on it was onwards and upwards for the man who recently featured in Forbes.

His further ventures would take him to multi national companies like IBM and Lenovo. Later firmly establishing himself as the Director Sales at Western Digital India, where he is credited with the launch of 1Tb of SD card.

He has also worked with many people in Kashmir hoping to aid them in their various endeavours. For those who are making and providing online content Khalid acts as a mentor as well as helping them with their data storage issues.

He has also visited various institutes in Kashmir and interacted with the students. He has shown a great passion to work with the youth. Khalid believes they should be more aware of consumption and storage of data on a large scale.
