The Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers cum Dealers Union on Monday termed the statement of Union Home Minister in which he had stated that the fruit growers’ delegation met with the all-party delegation in Srinagar as a “white lie”.
In a statement, the chairman of the Union, Bashir Ahmad Basheer said that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his press conference on September 5 has claimed that among others, fruit growers of the valley were also present in the All Party Delegation meet.
“This is not based on facts and is a white lie. The statement of Rajnath Singh is completely false which is strongly condemned and rejected by the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Union,” he said.
The KVFG Union is an Elected Apex Body of all fruit Associations of the Valley viz. Fruit Association Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla, Handwara Kupwara, Ganderbal, Charar-i-Sharief Budgam, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Ananatnag, Jablipora, Pachar.
He said that the Union had earlier unanimously decided to boycott the meeting with the all-party delegation.
“The KVFG union is of opinion that the state government called its employees and paid agents and presented them in All Party Delegation with the label of fruit growers of the Valley,” read the statement.
