Mirwaiz slammed the government for supporting elements bent upon damaging the Muslim majority character of the State.
Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday castigated the coalition government for slapping Public Safety Act (PSA) on a religious leader for participating in the funeral prayers of Lashkar commander Abu Qasim and said that right-wing elements are enjoying patronage of the govt to carry out attacks on Muslims in the state.
Uptil now, Mirwaiz said in his address at Jamia Masjid, Kashmiris were attacked in other parts of India. “… but now thanks to the coalition Kashmiri Muslims are attacked almost every day within their state, under a well planned strategy, be it in Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri or Udhumpur where the RSS goons rule the roost with the complete support and patronage of local administration.
He said Kashmiri truckers and travelers are attacked, beaten and their vehicles set ablaze in these regions while the government looks away.
Mirwaiz slammed the government for supporting elements bent upon damaging the Muslim majority character of the State.
He said history was witness to the fact that the unarmed people of Kashmir had braved numerous hardships and difficulties to carry forward the resistance movement, which has given confidence and strength to the resistance leaders.
“It was incumbent upon both the people and the leadership to jointly and responsibly take the movement to its logical conclusion,” he said.
