Winning at life: Sufi Hussain.

To succeed in life, one must succeed at being oneself”. These are the words Sufi Mohammad Hussain wants everyone to understand.

Hailing from Pampore, Kashmir, he is an author, an entrepreneur and a lawyer by profession. While this may confuse the reader, Sufi himself is quite clear about his life and how he balances certain aspects of it.

Sufi stresses the need for developing a thought process that defines your actions and how you respond to situations in life. He considers balancing the things life that one possess and not stressing over something that is beyond one’s control.

This means not overreacting when things are not going your way. Not jumping the gun when something bad happens, instead focus and calm should be the order of the day.

He advises others especially students to develop a thinking that will help them in their career.

Focusing on one’s career and a developing a personality that will be beneficial to them in the long run.

With the view of helping students reach their goals, Sufi began a counselling centre by the name of XEAL in 2012. XEAL counsels students on various career options.

Right now they have a decade of experience in counselling students for various career choices and colleges across the globe.

An avid reader himself, Sufi wanted to contribute something that will help young readers. According to the practicing lawyer himself, he got some of his best ideas while sitting in a cozy coffee shop. Even his idea to own a coffee shop came while he was in a cafe.

He then launched Cafe X in 2018, a coffeeshop filled with the aroma of coffee beans and books. Reading is another part where he thinks people should focus as it helps build a thought process and acumen.

And he believes reading books is a culture that needs developing and this is his contribution in that respect.

Sufi Hussain came out with his book titled ‘Passage of Stars’ IN 2019. He didn’t started writing with the intention of publishing a book. After he began writing for a local daily and later realized that these thoughts are connected and can be compiled into a book.

He writes about few personal experiences drawing from day to day life. Teenagers and anyone looking to make a career or life choice must read this book.

In it he mentions a few basic skills and etiquettes that anyone can develop to find their true personality. The book in very basic and simple terms explains different kinds of situations that you may face day to day and how to deal with them.

This is a work that Sufi believes is close to his heart as people who have faced challenges in their life will be able to relate.

Sufi Hussain has shown how one can grow in life taking one thing at a time. He believes in steady progress and spiritual thinking for a successful life.

Too much of our time is wasted without making a contribution in our life. He urges a change to this thinking and cultivating useful habits that will translate in to success one day.
