Fire broke out in Hamza Colony Dandarkha area of Batamaloo in Srinagar, leaving at least seven houses gutted late Sunday night.
According to locals that they along with police, and firefighters tried hard to douse the flames, however, the intensity of the fire was too high. Till the fire was controlled, seven residential houses were gutted in the incident resulting in the massive property loss.

In the incident, seven residential houses got damaged.
A firefighter also sustained injuries during the rescue operation.
A Fire and Emergency Department official said that one Mohammad Ahsan, an LFM (Leading Fireman) received injuries in his right hand during the operation.
“Ahsan was shifted to hospital and is stable,” he added.
A police official said that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
