8 Mutton, Poultry Shops Sealed, Rs 46k Fine Recovered From Erring Shopkeepers In Srinagar.

Eight wholesale poultry mutton shops were sealed for violation and a penal sum of Rs.46,200 from 37 erring shopkeepers was recovered by the Enforcement Squad of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) on Tuesday.

According to an FCS&CA official, the move was conducted in response to complaints from various areas of the people alleging unauthorised increases in poultry and other product rates.

According to him, the enforcement squad was split up into two zones in Srinagar City to undertake market checks. During the market check, 102 business units were inspected in Srinagar’s several areas, including Lakhriyar, Soura, Buchpora, Pantha Chowk, Bemina, Lawaypora, and Umer Abad. 

He continued that the drive would continue with the same zeal in the future, and that anyone found breaking the rules would be prosecuted.
