Yasin Malik Discharged From Hospital; Continues Hunger Strike In Jail.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was discharged after being admitted at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for four days and has returned to Tihar Jail, reported IANS.

“He (Malik) came back to Tihar on Friday,” Director General (Prisons), Sandeep Goyal, told IANS.

Malik was hospitalised by the prison authorities after his health deteriorated on 26 July following his ongoing hunger strike.

After returning to his cell, as per the report, Malik has decided to continue with his hunger strike and is still not having any food.

“He is still on intravenous fluids,” the top prison official said.

Malik, who is currently lodged at Jail No. 7 of the Tihar Prison, went on the hunger strike on 22 July.

When asked the reason behind his hunger strike, the official refrained from divulging any details.

However, prison sources said that he is protesting against the agencies that are investigating his cases. (IANS).
