The death toll in army helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu carrying CDS General Bipin Rawat has risen to 11, with others reported to be in critical condition.
14 people were on-board the military chopper that crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu. They included CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, NK Gursewak Singh, NK Jitendra Kr, L/Naik Vivek Kumar, L/Naik B Sai Teja & Hav Satpal.
First person account: He said he heard a loud sound and when he moved out to check what had happened, he saw that the chopper had hit a tree and a massive fire had broken out. The chopper had then hit the other three. The man then called the neighbours, who then informed the authorities. He said he saw multiple bodies falling out of the chopper.
