Bilqees Ara an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker has set an example by donating blood 25 times.
The ordeal began for this health worker from Gundchabotra village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara began xpecting mother in her neighborhood needed blood.
Since no male from her family was present at that time, Bilqees grabbed the chance to help. Since then the ASHA worker has regularly donated blood to those in need. In total she has donated blood 25 times in nine years of her service saving many lives.
Bilqees is a registered blood donor District Hospital Handwara where she has donated blood more than twelve times. She has also donated blood at Sub District Hospital Kupwara and LD Hospital Srinagar on several occasions.
She encourages others to come forward and commit to this noble and help save lives. Already her efforts have motivated her husband, a government teacher and is also a regular blood donor.
