Boy injured after shell lying for over a month explodes in Pulwama

Seventeen-year-old Danish Ahmad Khanday was injured when a shell, he found near an encounter site at Bamnoo in Pulwama, exploded, a police official said.

An explosive, apparently left behind at an encounter site around 40 days back in Kashmir’s Pulwama district, went off today, injuring a boy, police said.

Seventeen-year-old Danish Ahmad Khanday was injured when a shell, he found near an encounter site at Bamnoo in Pulwama, exploded, a police official said.

The boy was taken to a local hospital from where doctors referred him to the SMHS hospital here for treatment, he said.

On July 3, an encounter took place at Bamnoo where three militants were killed by government forces.
