BSF Jawan Accused of Spying For Pakistan, Dismissed.

The BSF have dismissed a jawan accused of spying for Pakistan after an inquiry was carried out following his arrest by ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad).

The jawan identified as Mohammed Sajjad, was a resident of Rajouri.

An inquiry was done in which he was found to have indulged in espionage activities,” a statement issued by BSF in Gujarat said, according to The Indian Express. “As per BSF Act and Rules, on the grounds of his involvement, his act was detrimental to the safety and security of the nation and hence, was dismissed from service today on October 30, 2021.”

Sajjad’s dismissal followed protracted surveillance followed by his arrest by ATS. He was posted at Gandhidham in Kutch.

The ATS has accused him of exchanging vital information with Pakistan through WhatsApp in exchange for money. Serving BSF since 2012, the newspaper said Sajjad had travelled to Pakistan in 2011 and stayed there for 46 days.
