Patients at the Bone and Joints Hospital Barzulla were made to suffer and had a tough time amidst unbearable cold weather as two out of three X-Ray machines were not functioning due to “technical” fault.
The patients were writhing with pain as they were standing in que, waiting for their turn.
Many attendants could be seen carrying their patients to the private x-ray labs outside the hospital.
“You can see my patient is not in a position to move out, but we are forced to go for an X-ray outside as the machine hasn’t been made functional,” said Mohammad Ramza, an attendant from Srinagar.
The administration of the hospital said that the matter is being looked into and machines would be made functional at the earliest.
Medical Superintendent Dr Suhail Mian accepted that two out of three machines are not functioning and the administration will fix the issues as soon as possible.
“One of the X-ray machines stopped working due to an electrical fault and we will get one restored by tomorrow; the other one may take some time” he said.
He said the sensor of another machine got damaged and we have placed an order for the same. When asked how long it is going to take he said “we never know, it may take a while”.
