Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the draft proposal shared by the panel with J&K’s Lok Sabha members’ reveals that the panel has proposed to increase one seat each in Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Rajouri districts in the Jammu region.
“The panel has also proposed to increase one seat in Kupwara district,” they said.
According to sources, the commission has only shared proposals regarding the district—wise allocation of seats with members of the parliament (MPs) from Jammu & Kashmir.
“The panel has not shared details about boundaries of 90 assembly segments with associate members. It is expected that they will share these details with them at the later stage,” they said.
