Srinagar roads will soon witness E-rickshaws in operation as plans for launch of services gain speed.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole Saturday chaired a meeting regarding operation of taxi stands from SDA lands at Haft Chinar, Srinagar and introduction of E-rickshaws.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner, Kashmir; Commissioner, SMC, Srinagar; ADC, Srinagar; Chief Town Planner; VC, SDA; SSP Traffic; RTO, Kashmir and other officers.
The meeting deliberated over the identification of routes on which E-rickshaws shall ply, operation of the service besides charging stations at terminals.
The meeting was informed that besides E-rickshaw charging stations at route terminals, the vehicle can easily be charged at home by the owner. Besides, the meeting was told that rickshaws shall ply on the routes which usually see less vehicular movement.
Further, the meeting discussed the allotment policy and operation of stands. Moreover, the meeting also discussed regulation of traffic movement to decongest the city by restricting movement through intra and inter district permits.
