An FIR has been registered against news channel Times Now anchor Navika Kumar for allegedly attempting to outrage religious emotions.
The FIR comes weeks after then-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma made insulting statements about Prophet Mohammad on her show, reported Newslaundry.
As per the report, the FIR, which was registered after a complaint by Maharashtra’s Muslim cleric also names Sharma.

The BJP spokesperson was suspended by the party on 5 June for her controversial remarks against the Prophet Mohammad.
Quoting Sharma, The Quint reported that she had also said that she had been receiving death threats over the incident.
The news reporter Navika Kumar had come to Sharma’s defense at the time and stated: “Nobody has the right to threaten anyone. Death threats to Nupur Sharma (are) unacceptable. As a mature democracy debate is essential but crossing the line (is) not ok for anyone.”
