Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu has said that the road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk (where Bindroo Medicate is located) will be named Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road to honour the memory of the valley’s famous chemist.
Makhan Lal Bindroo was shot dead yesterday evening by unidentified gunmen outside his shop located at Iqbal Park Srinagar.
Junaid Azim Mattu along with Apni Party President Syed Altaf Bukhari visited the slain pharmacist’s house located at Indira Nagar Sonwara.
He informed in a tweet that as a mark of respect and tribute the road from Haft Chinar to Jahangir Chowk will be named as Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road.
He said a resolution to this effect will be formally proposed in the SMC General Council.
