The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the winner of ODI Cricketer of the Year 2021 award.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been announced as the ODI Cricketer of the Year 2021, beating off competition from Shakib Al Hasan, Janneman Malan, and Paul Stirling.
This is Pakistan’s second award in as many days with wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan bagging the T20 Cricketer of the Year 2021 award on Sunday.
Babar Azam might have played only six ODIs in 2021, but he made vital contributions in the two series that they played this year.
He was the second-highest run-scorer with 228 runs and was the Player of the Match in both of Pakistan’s wins in the 2-1 series victory against South Africa.
