The authorities have shifted the Kashmiri journalist Asif Sultan to Ambedkar Nagar Central Jail in Agra in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
He was lodged in a prison in Jammu after he was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).

Meanwhile, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) Asia Program Coordinator Steven Butler has asked the authorities to set the incarcerated Kashmiri journalist free adding that the CPJ is deeply concerned for the well being of Sultan after he was shifted to a detention center in North India’s Agra region.
CPJ is deeply concerned for the health of Kashmiri journalist Aasif Sultan, who was transferred from a prison in Jammu and Kashmir to Ambedkar Nagar central jail in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, which is experiencing a record heat wave and power outages,” Steven Butler has said.
Sultan is in detention since August 2018. In April 2022, he was granted bail and released, but again re-arrested and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
