The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday booked a Facebook news portal on charges of spreading ‘fake and baseless’ news over an encounter in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“Shopian police registered FIR No. 43/2022 U/s 153 and 505(1)b IPC against the handler of Facebook news portal THE REAL KASHMIR NEWS for spreading fake and baseless news with the intention to mislead the general public about the Chandigam Lolab encounter and investigation has been set into motion,” police said in a statement.
