In what could be the biggest transfer swoop of the century, Barcelona president is planning to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Camp Nou and unite him with Lionel Messi.

Joan Laporta, the Barca president has brought a new leash of life ever since his return to the club’s hierarchy. He has plans to tie down Messi to a new contract. And to persuade the Argentine star to stay at the club, Laporta aims to unite him with Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus this summer. Both club and player thought to be ready to bring their time together to an end.

Can it happen?

It is more possible than you will think, with Ronaldo unhappy at the Turin club and seeking a fresh challenge. Also Laporta is keen to assemble a super star team to take Barcelona back to the top of footballing pyramid. He sees Ronaldo’s move as the first step in his plans.

Laporta has spoken with those close to him at the club about his dream to unite Ronaldo and Messi the two greatest players of their generation. He is thought to be actively working on what it would take to get a deal done.

Any move would be expected to revolve around player swaps. Barcelona could not afford Ronaldo’s wages as it is, but offloading some of their own highest earners would make it more feasible.
