NEET 2021 Date announced; Registration starts today. Check eligibility, Documents, no. of seats.

The NEET (UG) exam will be held on 12th September the union ministry of education today announced.

Medical entrance exam was earlier scheduled for August 1, but was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the dates for exam as well as the date for the start of registration process.

When will registration begin?

“The NEET-UG 2021, will be held on 12th September across the country following COVID-19 protocols. The application process will begin from 5 pm tomorrow through the NTA website,” Pradhan said in a series of tweets.

“To ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols, face mask will be provided to all candidates at the centre. Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper sanitization, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured,” he said.

The Education Minister further said that in order to ensure social distancing norms, the number of cities where examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from 3,862 used in the previous exams.

NEET UG 2021 registrations today- Who can apply?

Check the NEET 2021 eligibility guidelines set by NTA that a candidate must fulfil in order to register for the medical exam.

  • Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals. can register for NEET 2021.
  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board are eligible to appear for NEET-UG.
  • Class 12 or equivalent appearing aspirants are also eligible to apply for NEET.
  • Aspirants who have completed a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of admission as of 31 December 2021 can take the exam.

NEET 2021 application form: How to register

Here are the steps to fill NEET application form:

  • Go to the official website
  • Click on ‘Registration’ link
  • Read the instructions and click on next to proceed
  • The application will be displayed on the screen
  • NEET registration – Enter the personal details like name, parent’s name, date of birth, category, nationality and more
  • Filling of the personal, academic,  contact, selection of exam centres, dress code and more
  • Uploading of passport size -photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression, postcard size photograph and Class 10 passing certificate
  • Payment of application fee must be paid in online mode through credit/debit cards, net banking
  • Printout of confirmation page must be preserved on future references

  • Uploading the scanned images or documents as per the specifications
  • Payment of NEET registration fee in online mode

Documents to keep beforehand for NEET-UG 2021 registrations

Keep the following documents and details ready before the release of the NEET application form 2021.

  • An active mobile number and a valid email address
  • Aadhaar number
  • Class 12 roll number issued by the Board
  • Election card (EPIC No.)
  • Bank account passbook with photograph
  • Passport number or number of any other photo identity card issued by the Government
  • Scanned images of passport-size photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, Class 10 pass certificate and postcard size photograph.

Total number of seats granted through NEET 2021

Through NEET-UG 2021 scores, 83,075 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH and 525 BVSc and AH, 1899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER seats will be granted. Additionally, from this year forth, the scores of the NEET entrance exam will also be used for Bc Nursing and BSc Life Sciences admissions.
