National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir and arrested an accused in the militancy conspiracy case.
“Today, NIA conducted searches at four locations in Sopore and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and arrested one accused person identified as Irfan Tariq Antoo of Kral Tang, Sopore in a case under number RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI,” a spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—KNO.
The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent militant acts in J&K and other major cities including New Delhi, by cadres of Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc, it said.
“NIA had registered the case as RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) dated 10-10-2021 and initiated the investigation. NIA has arrested 28 persons in the case till now. The investigation has revealed that the arrested accused person is a militant associate/OGW of militant organization and has been providing logistical and material support to militants,” it added.
NIA added said that further investigation in the case is going on.
