Pakistan Bowler Mohammad Hasnain Suspended From Bowling.

Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Hasnain, who was reported for illegal bowling action has been suspended from bowling after being found in violation of ICC’s 15-degree limit for elbow extension.

Hasnain underwent tests in Lahore in late January after he was reported while playing domestic cricket in Australia, with the findings from the Lahore University of Management Sciences confirming the illegal bowling action.

The 21-year-old was due to be tested at the ICC’s approved facility in Brisbane, though after his departure from Australia in mid-January, it was agreed he would conduct his test at the Pakistan Cricket Board’s approved facility, with results provided to Cricket Australia for independent review and verification.

Pakistan’s governing body confirmed the findings of their Australian counterparts.

“The PCB today received a formal and detailed report from Cricket Australia on Mohammad Hasnain’s assessment test, which stated his elbow extension for his good length delivery, full length delivery, slow bouncer and bouncer exceeded the 15-degree limits.

As per illegal bowling action regulations, Hasnain can only resume bowling in international cricket once he clears his reassessment.

The fast-bowler was due to feature in the Pakistan Super League, and the ban rules him out of featuring in the country’s home series against Australia next month. Instead, Hasnain will begin immediate remedial work on his action.

“The PCB has discussed the report with its own bowling experts and is confident that the problem can be resolved,” Pakistan’s statement continued.

“The PCB will now appoint a bowling consultant who will work with Mohammad Hasnain so that he can rectify his bowling action and be ready for a reassessment.

“Instead, he will use this time to work with the PCB-appointed bowling consultant to modify his bowling action so that he can apply for a reassessment and become eligible to return to international cricket as quickly as practically possible.”
