Launching Jan Samarth, a portal connecting 13 credit-linked government schemes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said it is necessary to focus on making domestic banks and currency an important part of the international supply chain and trade, reported Indian Express.

PM Modi also released a special series of Re 1, Rs 2, 5, 10 and 20 coins, which will have the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ design but are not commemorative coins and will be part of the circulation.
“These new series of coins will remind people of the goal of ‘amrit kal’ and motivate people to work towards the development of the country,” Modi said as quoted by Indian Express.
