Prime Minister Narendra Modi will list out achievements made in erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in his first ever visit to the region since August 2019.
The PM’s visit to Palli in Jammu division on April 24 is also expected to witnesses some inaugurations and announcements of developmental projects.
Pertinently, this will be Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since Article-370 was abrogated and the erstwhile state was bifurcated into two Union Territories.

A source privy to the matter said that the PM will reach Jammu on April 24 from where he’s scheduled to visit Palli village in Samba district.
“PM will make his address at Palli Panchayat on April 24 as Palli Panchayat is being celebrated as India’s first ever carbon-neutral rural body,” a senior BJP leader said.
It is pertinent to mention here that April 24 marks the Panchayati Raj Diwas.
Besides this, sources from BJP noted that PM is expected to inaugurate a mega power project at the village that will help in providing a hassle free power supply to more than 300 households of the village.
The sources further said that PM Modi will also inaugurate a tunnel virtually through the Panchayat and more than 1 lakh people are expected at the inaugural address. During his visit, PM is also expected to lay the foundation of 850 MW Ratle and 540 MW Kwar hydel power projects virtually from the village.
As per the sources, the PM will also address more than 20,000 members of rural local bodies across the country during his first-ever political visit to the erstwhile state since the abrogation of Article 370.
The sources further noted that Modi will also talk about DDC elections and DDC members in an attempt to showcase the strong grassroots of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
“PM will highlight the importance of abrogation of Article 370 and reasons behind bifurcation of J&K into two Union Territories,” the source said.
“He’s likely to mention how abrogation [Article-370] had led to a downfall of militancy in Kashmir, subsided corruption and ended the dynastic rule in J&K. He’ll probably mention how earlier governments in J&K had pushed J&K into a black hole of distress and violence.”
In his first visit since the abrogation of the article, Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation of several industrial and development projects.
“He may announce industrial investments, packages for Tourism, investments on Agriculture, besides interacting with stakeholders of the farming community,” the BJP source noted.
If sources are to be believed, then PM may formally introduce over 50,000 crore industrial investments for J&K.
They further said that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will receive the PM and stay with him till the end of his visit. Besides LG, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP leaders Ashok Kaul, Devender Singh Rana and Ravindra Raina are expected to accompany the PM.
Besides the BJP leaders, government officials from various departments of the civil administration working in parts of Jammu are likely to attend PM’s one day programmes.
