Shades of Brilliance: Murtaz Bhat

Murtaz Bhat is a 23 year old sketch artist from Sonwar, Srinagar who draws hyper realistic sketches with a resounding detail that will capture your imagination straightaway.

Murtaz came across sketch art a few years back in 2018 when he saw the drawings of an artist, named Saif ul Mir, which inspired him to pursue this tedious but rewarding art.

At first Murtaz found it hard to draw such detailed hyper realistic sketches, but he began with simple designs hoping to one day convert them into something much more by the end.

With patience and dedication he kept drawing sketches taking them up to the next level step by step. Soon Murtaz became proficient in his newly found art and while took him weeks or at times months to come with the final product being more than satisfying.

He says a good basic sketch takes time, and at the start he used to make 2-3 drawings in the day but later his detailed sketches used to take weeks.

This SSM engineering student says sketch art is his hobby and he hopes to turn it into a passion down the years. He stresses that young artists after seeing the work of others want to create the same art straightaway which is not possible. He asks others to put in patience and dedication to get to that level.

Murtaz says while others should be inspired by high end and aspire to be at that level, it is important to put in the work and time to reach perfection. He advises young artists to persevere and have patience.

Murtaz’s art is so immersive that once you cast your eyes on it, you can’t turn away. Like a pure artist this soft spoken person lets his work do the talking.

His illustrations are a work of brilliance and sketch art at its finest. Murtaz says everyone should find a hobby that will be fruitful for them in the long run and not fall in bad vices.

Murtaz is a bright example of talent and skill drawn into something truly remarkable through hardwork. We hope that he continues to prosper and sketches a bright future for himself.
