They appealed the governments to rescue the students so that they would come back to their homes safely.

At least six Kashmiri students are stranded at Tambaram in Chennai in Tamil Nadu where rains have wreaked havoc in past few days.

The parents of the six students have appealed to the governments in J&K and Tamil Nadu government to rescue the stranded students.

The students, who have been identified as Arbaz salim, Nawaz Mukhtar, Musa Wakil, Mehran and Adil, are pursuing engineering courses at SRM University Chennai.

“The last time we spoke to them was in the morning when they had left their flats and were stranded at Tambaram, after that we don’t know their whereabouts,” mother of a one stranded student told Greater Kashmir.

They appealed the governments to rescue the students so that they would come back to their homes safely.

“We are very much worried about the whereabouts of our wards,” they said.

Chennai has been inundated due to torrential rains lashing the region for past few days. (GK)
