SSM College Beats Top Universities Across India To Bag All 3 Positions In Innovation & Start Up Ideas.

SSM College bagged all three positions in ‘Innovation & Start Up Ideas’ awarded by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at an event held at NIT Srinagar on May 20.

SSM college beat out competition from Kashmir University, IUST, SP jain, NIT Srinagar, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai , which is India’s most renowned business school to bag all three top positions for their innovation and start up ideas.

The winning start ups from SSM college were developed by SuperNova Innovations which included a Smart Room Heater which got the top position, Buoyant Foundation which was picked in second spot and finally a Portable Water Purification device which grabbed the third slot.

The SuperNova group was credited for developing all three of these top innovations which impressed the panel of Entrepreneurs.

The event titled International Conference on Contemporary Business Trends (ICCBT) was a pitch party for start ups from various universities and colleges.

The event saw groups from top universities presenting their start up ideas to a vast array of Entrepreneurs and Business owners from all over India.

Top 3 Innovations By SuperNova Innovations.

Smart Room Heater:

Smart Room Heater is a device that will deal with frequent voltage drops in Kashmir. Whatever will be the voltage, blower will provide sufficient amount of heat.

And with this, low voltage requirement it can operate our blower even on inverter.

This blower is much safer than conventional ones due to addition of some protection circuitry in it. T

his protection circuitry involve some sensors like temperature sensor, current sensor, voltage sensor and smoke sensor.

Buoyant Foundation:

A buoyant foundation is an idea to overcome and tackle the damage caused by floods in any area.

The idea involves sustainable development which includes safe, economically feasible, environment-friendly and socially approved growth and such technologies which would operate in synchrony with natural cycles of flooding to reduce the hazard vulnerability of flood prone areas.

Portable Water Purification:

A portable water purification device which purifies contaminated water from rain, river, lake or well.
It has been recognised by National innovation foundation of India as well

Confederation of Indian Industry is currently holding CII -Yi Youth Confluence “Summer in Srinagar” from 16which is a congregation of Young entrepreneurs, professionals, and students from across India at Srinagar to understand the business environment and opportunities in J&K.

The event provides an opportunity for startups for possible collaboration with local startups.

During the program participants interacted with top decision makers from the government, young leaders of society from J&K.

The visiting delegation was headed by Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Chairman and Managing Director Aries Agro Limited, included among others Prof. Tulsi Jyakumar, Executive Director, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mr. Jacob Roy Director JJ Confectionery Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Karthik Shah Energy Pack Boilers, Mr. Anuj Kothari Chief Executive Adinath Enterprise, Syed Eshan Javaid Chairman CII J&K and Khurshid Dar, Head CII J&K.

Addressing the event, head of the delegation Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Chairman and Managing Director Aries Agro Limited emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to encourage young entrepreneurs/engineers and provide technical and financial support for the start-up. He assured the gathering that CII and its Industry Partners will come forward for this purpose in a meaningful manner.

Dr. Tulsi Jyakumar, Executive Director, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research also spoke on the occasion and praised the talent of the students of SSM College and the ambient and conducive atmosphere for carrying out academic activities in the College.
