Group 1 of Super 12 will witness key matches as South Africa play Sri Lanka and England vs Australia in a heavyweight clash in T20 World Cup.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka

South Africa and Sri Lanka both have one win and one defeat from their campaign and will be hoping to keep their semi final hopes alive.

South Africa were mired in controvesy ahead of their game aagainst West Indies with Quinton De Kock refusing to take the knee and was subsequently dropped from the side. South Africa did go on to win the match by 8 wickets.

Sri Lanka riding high after beating Bangladesh suffered a tame defeat against Australia in the next game. They will now be looking to carry their World Cup campaign by overcoming the Proteas.

WHERE TO WATCH:

The match will be aired live on Star Sports channels – Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 3 and Star Sports 3 HD, and DD Sports. The game will also be available on Hotstar app for streaming.

England vs Australia

England will take on Australia in the evening clash, with this match being crucial as it may decide which team among the two tops the group.

So far both teams have looked impeccable with performances matching pre tournament expectations. England crushed West Indies in the World Cup opener before making light work of Bangladesh in their second match.

Australia survived a tense moment to overcome South Africa and then disposed of Sri Lanka to underline their credentials.

Having never won the T20 World Cup, a win against tournament favourites England will offer much boost to Australia’s hopes. This match is probably the second biggest clash in world cricket and we hope it lives up to the expectations.
