The much awaited T20 World is underway as first round matches begin with Oman taking on Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Bangladesh facing off against Scotland.
In the first round there are 8 teams divided into 2 groups of 4 each, with the top 2 teams from each group at the end qualifying for the Super 12 round of the tournament.
The first round is hosted by Oman who will be hoping to progress from their group that will also contain Bangladesh.
Former T20 World champions Sri Lanka will also be in the first round, looking to make it to the SUPER 12 without any hiccups. However, the inexperienced Lankan side will face stiff competition from Ireland and Holland, known for upsets at the world stage.
The first game will see hosts Oman play PNG, while later Bangladesh and Scotland will face each other.
Round one will come to an end on Friday with Ireland v Namibia and Netherlands v Sri Lanka, Super 12 begins the next day on Saturday with Australia v South Africa the opening game.

Ireland, Namibia, Sri Lanka and The Netherlands.
Group B:
