”United Nations to persuade the Indian government for peaceful settlement of the long-standing Kashmir dispute’

Pakistan has said that it is obligatory upon the United Nations to persuade the Indian government for peaceful settlement of the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi said India is non-serious in finding a solution to the Kashmir dispute.
“India’s arrogance is deteriorating situation in the region that can be a threat to regional and international peace and security,” the radio report quoted Maleeha as saying in a private TV programme.
She said Pakistan is highlighting Kashmir issue at all forums to seek international attention.
The letter of the UN Secretary General to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the issue is an evidence of our efforts.
