A youth was injured in clashes between government forces and protesters in Khanpora area of Baramulla in north Kashmir on Monday evening.
Witnesses said that clashes broke out after police lobbed teargas shells to disperse youths who tried to resist police move to arrest Waseem Ahmad Darzi for his alleged involvement in stone-throwing protests.
During the clashes, a youth identified as Hilal Ahmad Akhoon sustained injuries.
Later, scores of women held a protest on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, which disrupted the movement of traffic.
