Two non-locals were shot at on Sunday evening by suspected militants in Pulwama district of South Kashmir, police said.
“At about 7.15 pm, militants fired upon two persons namely Dheeraj Dutt and Surinder Singh — both residents of Pathankot, Punjab, at Nowpora in Litter area of Pulwama,” a police official said.

Immediately the duo—one driver and another conductor of the poultry vehicle, were shifted to a sub-district hospital
When contacted, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Pulwama Dr. B S Tullah told GNS that one of the injured, Surinder, has a bullet injury on the left side of his chest and he has been referred to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for advanced treatment.
Another Dheraj Dutta has injuries in the leg and is under treatment.
An investigation is underway into the incident.
