Hurriyat Calls For Complete Shutdown in J&K Ahead of PM Modi’s UNGA address

Hurriyat Conference has called for a complete shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of PM Modi’s UNGA address.

Issuing a statement, the APHC spokesman said “the Kashmiri people will send a clear message to the world through a complete strike that they do not accept India’s illegal and illegitimate occupation over their motherland and they want complete freedom from it.”

PM Modi will address the General Debate of the High-Level Segment of 76th Session of UN General Assembly (UNGA) on September 25 in New York.

The theme for this year’s general debate is building resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainability, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people and revitalise the United Nations.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had also made a reference to Kashmir in his address to the UN General Assembly following which India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar.
