Jammu Kashmir fast bowling sensation Umran Malik has burst on the scene owing to his ruthless pace the likes of which has been rarely seen on the Indian cricket circuit.
The fast bowler from the Himalayan region has gone from strength to strength ever since he got a break midway through IPL 2021 as a short-term Covid-19 replacement for T. Natarajan for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Umran hasn’t looked back since and was one of the only three players retained by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022.

Umran Malik was born on November 22, 1999 (age 22 Years) in Jammu City, Jammu & Kashmir, India. His father Abdul Rashid runs a fruit shop and his mother is a homemaker. He also has an elder sister and a young brother.
He joined the cricket academy at the age of 17. His pace impressed the head coach of the academy, Randhir Singh Minhas. He started training him and prepare for what was to come.

Umran Malik Cricket Career:
Umran Malik made his Twenty 20 career debut under Jammu and Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in 2021.
He also made his debut in the list-A cricket under Jammu and Kashmir in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the same year.
After this he got an opportunity to participate as a net bowler for the Sunrisers Hyderabad Team in the IPL 2021. He then got a chance to play in the tournament as Covid-19 replacement for T. Natarajan.
During his 3rd match in the IPL season he clocked a pace of 150.1 Kmph. This impressed his captain Kane Williamson as well his opponent and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, with both stalwarts praising him.

In IPL 2021 Umran bowled the fastest delivery at 151kmph. He also became the first Indian bowler to clock 150kmph more than twice in a single IPL match.
During the current season Umran has consistently bowled over at 145kmph with his latest fastest delivery raking up 153.3 kmph which clean bowled Wriddhiman Saha.
The fact that he is in a tussle with New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson for the fastest ball of the tournament tells you about the levels Umran is hitting.
At this moment, Gujarat Titans pacer Ferguson holds the record with an astonishing bowling speed of 153.9 that came in the game against Chennai Super Kings.
