Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan set a world record for most runs in a calendar year in T20 internationals in the second T20 against West Indies.
He broke the record of Ireland’s Paul Stirling, who had scored 748 runs in 20 innings in 2019. Rizwan now has scored 752 runs in 14 innings this year.
With the T20 World Cup still to come, Rizwan can add to his tally further.
With Rizwan’s feat, Pakistan holds records for “highest runs in a calendar year” in two months. The other record is held by Mohammad Yousuf after scoring 1,788 Test runs in 2006.
