PSL 7: Defending champions Multan Sultans got off to a perfect start as they beat Karachi Kings by 7 wickets in the PSL 7 opening match.
Put into bat first Babar Azam led Karachi struggled to get going with only Sharjeel Khan providing some impetus. Multans bowlers David Willey and Shahnawaz Dhani bowled a disciplined line and gave little away.
Later on spinners Imran Tahir and Tim David further slowed down things for Karachi giving Multan the upper hand.
Tahir finished with 3/16 in his four overs as Kings were held for a meagre 124 runs in 20 overs.
In reply the in-form Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood guided the chase with ease. Even after Masood’s dismissal the target never looked out of reach as Rizwan kept the momentum going scoring a brisk half century.
Sohaib Maqsood also powered through with a steady 30 runs to ensure Multan get their title defence off to a perfect start.
