JK Government Refers 281 Vacancies to JKSSB for Recruitment

The Jal Shakti Department of Jammu and Kashmir has referred 281 non-gazetted vacancies to the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for early recruitment. This move aims to fill various posts in accordance with the J&K Engineering (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules of 1997.

Vacancies Breakdown:

The referred vacancies are as follows:

1. Junior Engineer (Civil):

Pay Level: Level-6

Cadre: UT Cadre

Department: Jal Shakti Department

Posts: 202

2. Junior Assistant:

Pay Level: Level-4

Division Cadre:

Jammu: 12 posts

Kashmir: 15 posts

Departments: PHE and IFC

3. Stenographer:

Pay Level: Level-6B

Cadre: Division Jammu

Department: I&FC

Posts: 1

4. Works Supervisor:

Pay Level: SL-1

Division Cadre :

Jammu (PHE): 8 posts

Jammu (I&FC): 4 posts

Kashmir (PHE): 12 posts

Kashmir (IFC): 7 posts

Total Vacancies : 281

The requisition forms were submitted following all procedural guidelines, including the reservations as per SRO 186 of 2009 and subsequent orders. The notification ensures compliance with the General Administration Department’s directions.

Official Statement :

The Additional Secretary to the Government, Jal Shakti Department, emphasized that the vacancies were calculated based on sanctioned strength and incumbent positions. Recruitment is expected to be conducted transparently to ensure efficiency and fair representation.

Next Steps :

The JKSSB will proceed with advertising and conducting the recruitment process, expected to commence by March 2024.

This recruitment drive is a significant step in addressing staff shortages in key departments, enhancing public service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
