366 People Below The Age of 30 Detained in J&K Under UAPA From 2018 to 2020.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)  informed the Parliament on Tuesday that 366 people were detained in J&K under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act UAPA from 2018-2020.

Replying to a query about how many militancy incidents took place in J&K in 2021 and 2020, the MHA replied that 206 militancy-related incidents were reported in J&K till December 5, this year against 244 in 2020.

“Estimated net infiltration in J&K this year was 28 (bids) till October 31 compared to 51 in the entire year of 2020,” the reply read as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The MHA also informed the House that over 2500 people below 30 years of age were arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act since 2018 till 2020. “Maximum arrests during this period were in UP (931) and JK (366)—(KNO)
