In a significant announcement for Central Government employees, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the establishment of the Eighth Central Pay Commission.

The decision, announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, marks a key step in reviewing and revising the pay structure and benefits for government employees. “The Prime Minister has approved the 8th Central Pay Commission for all employees of the Central Government,” Vaishnaw stated.

The tenure of the Seventh Pay Commission, which was constituted in 2016, is set to end in 2026. With the approval of the 8th Pay Commission, preparations will begin to ensure a smooth transition once the current commission’s term concludes.

This development is expected to benefit millions of government employees across the country and reflects the government’s commitment to addressing their welfare and financial concerns.
