PSL 7: Ruthless Jason Roy Helps Quetta Beat Lahore in High Scoring Game.

PSL 7: Jason Roy scored his first PSL century, including 11 fours and eight sixes – help Quetta Gladiators to victory against Lahore Qalandars.

Lahore Qalandars came into this game after a thrilling win over Islamabad United but found Jason Roy in over powered mode on the night.

Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique scored steadily in the score 61 in the first 8 overs. After Shafique’s run out, Zaman put on the accelerator, hitting two successive sixes off James Faulkner in the 10th over.

Kamran Ghulam also hit two maximums but fell off Iftikhar’s bowling as James Vince held on to a good catch in the deep.

Zaman continued to play his part but after his wicket Qalandars were just over 150 runs at the end of 17th over. But then Harry Brook and Wiese took charge in the death, helping their side score 50 in the last three overs.

The duo added 55 runs of 22 balls as Lahore finished with 204/5 in 20 overs.

What happened in the chase was pure carnage by Jason Roy. The English batter added 60 runs out of the 73 scored in powerplay. Roy scoring the fastest half century by a Gladiators player as he reached the milestone off just 20 balls.

Roy continued his ruthless streak scoring a 49 ball 100  with two back to back sixes off Zaman Khan in the 13th. James Vince also played his part scoring at brisk pace, as Gladiators raced passed 150 in 14 overs.

The equation was down to 52 off 36 balls, with two quick wickets of Roy and Iftikhar, but Vince and Nawaz ensured a smooth finish. Vince not out on 49 off 38 balls while Nawaz finished off the chase with a six, scoring 25 off 12 balls as Quetta won with 3 deliveries to spare.
