Journalist Assaulted By Doctors in Bandipora Hospital.

A reporter was allegedly assaulted by doctors in the block medical office Bandipora, following which an inquiry into the matter has been ordered by district administration.

In a order issued by deputy commissioner Bandipora, reads that In order to inquire into the alleged assault on a journallst namely Mr. Inam- ul-Haq by the doctors in the office of Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Additional District Development Commissioner, Bandipora is nominated as Inquiry officer to conduct a thorough inquiry.

“The Inquiry Officer shall submit his report within a period of week’s time, ” the order futher stated.

On Sunday, Bandipora journalist association has condemned the assault on journalist Inam-ul-Haq by a doctor while covering Pulse Polio drive at Pazalpora hospital in Bandipora district on Sunday.

Association in a statement demanded strict action against the doctor for using unparliamentary language against the journalist while he was discharging his professional duty.

“As reported by Inam, he was abused and verbally assaulted by one doctor namely Dr Fayaz while covering pulse polio drive at Pazalpora hospital, presumably in response to a news story carried by Inam at PHC Chuntimulla two months ago in the intrest of public where the said doctor is posted,” reads the statement.

It reads that the said doctor used unparliamentary language against Inam without any provocation.

The association has strongly condemned the act and has demanded strict action as per law against the said doctor.
