Grenade Attack At Wine Shop In Baramulla, One Dead.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that militants hurled a grenade inside a newly opened wine shop in the Baramulla district, injuring four employees while one succumbed to his wounds.

Official sources said that militants hurled grenade at the wine shop this evening which exploded with a bang, leaving four persons, all employees, injured.

The injured were immediately shifted to hospital and one of them succumbed to the injuries. A police officer confirmed the grenade blast and told GNS that attacker disguised himself as buyer.

He said that the area has been cordoned off and searches have been launched to nab the attacker (s).

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Singh Son of Krishan Lal age 52 yrs, a resident of Rajouri area.

The injured have been identified as Goverdan Singh Son of Gajender Singh aged 35 yrs, a resident of Kathua, Govind Singh son of Gurdev Singh aged 35, a resident of  Rajouri and Ravi Kumar Son of Kartar Chand, aged 36, a resident of Kathua.

In a statement issued to the media, the police spokesperson said, At about 8:10 pm, two militants riding on a bike stopped near the newly opened wine shop at Dewan Bagh Baramulla. The pillion rider wearing a Burka walked to the window of the said wine shop and dropped a grenade inside the said wine shop through the porthole window and thereafter fled away on the bike from the spot.”

Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress. Officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.
