Junaid Ahmad, a 23-year old singer from Habba Kadal, Srinagar is a self taught musician all set to make his debut under the bright lights of Bollywood.
Junaid discovered his inclination towards music from an early age and started following something he was born to. He is fully supported by his family in pursuing his innate musical obsession.
He learnt the intricacies of musical pieces by repeating the pattern multiple times until he has mastered it. He chose a genre that suits him the most and started singing and composing in the same.

Braving all hardships of struggling days Junaid never lost hope and kept his belief firm. The wait ended when this raw talent was discovered by the leading Director of Bollywood Mr. Onir.
“I remember the day, I was on stage (performing), he (Onir) came and enjoyed it and the best part was I performed the song( Tere Bin) from movie (Bas Ek Pal). I didn’t know the song was from his movie. I came to know about it later. When he asked about my future plans, I described my craze and passion for playback singing”. Recalls Junaid.
Destiny played its role and one fine morning Junaid got a call from Mr. Onir.
“I got a call, it was Onir on the other side who said, Junaid be ready I have lined up something big for you and talked to music maestro Pritam about your talent who has agreed to record a dummy with you. It was a dream come moment for me,” adds Junaid.
Junaid Ahmad is now making his debut as a playback singer for the movie “Pine Cone’ which is scheduled to hit the screens in 2023. The debut song is composed by Junaid himself.
Talking about his other works Junaid has a duet with Bollywood singer Shivangi Bhayana which is composed by Mohit Dogra. The song titled ‘Baat’ will be released soon.
Kashmiri song ‘ Zindagi’ written by Peer Zahoor was also composed by Junaid which has been selected for screening during Jammu and Kashmir International Film Festival to be organized at Pune. (KNT)
