The apparently ceaseless conflict between US and Iran is officially come to an end as the two have mutually confirmed to agree on a peace deal which makes the war over. It is a victory for the entire world as peace has prevailed.
The news coming from Washington and Tehran is that both countries are ready to sign a peace deal to end the war and take a big step towards resuming diplomatic ties. The deal will include reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as well as the end of US naval blockade against Iran
The Strait of Hormuz had become a major issue for the entire world as its blockade by Iran had set the energy markets upwards raising the prices of fuel and energy.
The agreement, brokered by Pakistan and Qatar after months of indirect negotiations, is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday. The Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes, is expected to reopen following the signing ceremony, easing fears of a prolonged disruption to global energy markets.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media, that the maritime traffic would be restored and the blockade would discontinue. “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all,” Trump wrote. Trump later clarified that the Strait would formally reopen following the signing ceremony on Friday.
Iran’s statement
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) confirmed that the text of the memorandum had been finalized after difficult and intensive negotiations. The council said: “Based on the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, the text of the memorandum of understanding regarding the end-of-war negotiations (Islamabad talks) between Iran and the United States was finalized on the evening of June 15.” The statement said the agreement provides for “The immediate and permanent end of the war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon”. It also confirmed that he naval blockade against Iran is terminated immediately and completely.
Iran credited the outcome to the leadership of the late Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the guidance of current leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the support of the Iranian people and the efforts of the armed forces.
Iran’s military leadership proclaimed victory over Washington and Israel. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country’s top military command centre, said the US and Israel had faltered to acheive their objectives. “The Iranian people and their fighters have proven that the wretched American and Zionist enemies have no choice but to accept defeat and surrender,” the headquarters said. It added that the “divine and steel-like will” of the Iranian nation had become an “unbreakable barrier” against future aggression.
Officials said the memorandum establishes a 60-day negotiation period during which the two sides will seek a broader settlement covering uranium enrichment, nuclear monitoring and the disposition of Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpiles. Iran has maintained that future negotiations must protect its sovereign rights while focusing on sanctions relief and economic recovery.
The end to the war is significant for the entire world as conflict anywhere threatens peace everywhere. This conflict could have become bigger and bloody and could have prolonged indefinitely. Gratefully the world is saved of this one.
