Bindroo Killing: J&K’s Political Leaders Speak On Famous Chemist’s Death.

Kashmir valley was stunned into silence as famous Chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo was shot near Iqbal Park on Tuesday.

Bindroo the owner of Bindroo Medicate was shot outside his shop he was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The killing of the noted Kashmiri Pandit has drawn strong reaction from the valley as well as the political space in the region.

Farooq Abdullah

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah called Bindroo an upright man “who all his life served the people of the Valley.”

“He never left the valley. And every day he used to help poor people. But beasts killed him too,” Abdullah said.

On Wednesday visited the residence of famous chemist M L Bindroo in Indra Nagar to offer condolences to his family.

Omar Abdullah

Former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah also took to Twitter to condemn the killing.

“What terrible news! He was a very kind man. I’ve been told he never left during the height of militancy and remained with his shop open. I condemn this killing in the strongest possible terms & convey my heartfelt condolences to his family. God bless his soul,” Omar posted on Twitter.

Mehbooba Mufti

PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti also condemned Bindroo’s killing, tweeting, “Condemn the killing of Shri M L Bindroo who chose to stay back in Kashmir even during peak insurgency. Such acts of violence have no place in our society. May his family find the strength to deal with this loss”.

She also attacked the Centre, saying their fake narrative of normalcy lies in tatters.

“With the recent spate of civilian killings in Kashmir GOIs fake narrative of normalcy lies in tatters. An utterly desensitised govt that has devalued human lives & pushed J&K into further peril & chaos by its ruthless policies of collective punishment all in the garb of security,” Mehbooba tweeted.

Sajad Lone

The Peoples Conference president, Sajad Lone termed the killing of Bindroo as outrageous and unacceptable.

“I knew the gentleman personally. He never left the valley. And terrorists made him pay for that. May he live in peace,” he said. (KNS)

Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari also condemned the killing, terming the incidents as extremely barbaric

Bindroo never left his homeland even in the worst of turmoil and had continued to make the life saving drugs available to humanity in this part of the world. Is this how he has been repaid for his public services?” Bukhari asked.
