More than three militants are involved in the attack on an army base in Tangdhar area of Kupwara, police said.

“More than 3 militants, and they are most probably fidayeens,” said SSP Kupwara Aijaz Ahmad.

An army officer told Greater Kashmir that they have engaged the militants and the firing is going on. He didn’t provide more details.

However, sources in police and army said a group of militants threw grenades at the army base, setting oil depos and several vehicles on fire at the Kalsuri ridge near Line of Control in Tangdhar area of Kupwara district at around 8 am.
