T20 World Cup: India Crush Scotland To Keep Semis Hope Alive.

India blew away Scotland by 8 wickets in just 39 balls at Dubai to improve their chances of reaching the semi finals of T20 World Cup.

Winning the toss for the first time at this event, Virat Kohli chose to bowl.

Scotland struggled from the onset and no answer to a motivated India bowling looking to make amends. Mohammad Shami and Ravendra Jadeja ran through the Scottish batting with only a brief stand between Michael Leask and Calum Macleod saving them from a total embarrassment.

At the end they could only muster 85 runs, having been bowled out in 17.4 overs.

India came out to bat with only one intention and that was to improve their net run rate over Afghanistan and New Zealand if it came down to that scenario.

From the first ball Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul looked eager to get India over the line as quickly as possible.

KL Rahul scored a whirlwind 50 of just 18 balls, hitting 3 sixes, while Sharma also scored 30 of 16 balls. It was then left to Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav to knock of the winning runs and ensure a massive win for India that moves them third in the table, but with a better net run rate than both New Zealand and Afghanistan.

India will have a chance to further improve their net run rate when they play against Namibia in the final game and they will be hoping that Afghanistan would have done them a favour by then by beating New Zealand
