The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) said that it will vaccinate all faculty members and students of educational institutes before the resumption of physical academic activities.
In a notification issued to directors of the School and Higher Education Department, DHSK has asked for submission of vaccination dates for all eligible students and faculty members of the institutions.
The DHSK in a notification has said that the vaccination drive for teaching, non-teaching staff, and students shall be done before re-opening of colleges and schools.
“Before any decision is taken by the government in future regarding re-opening of educational institutions of Jammu and Kashmir, it becomes imperative to get all teaching, non-teaching staff and also eligible students fully vaccinated, so as to prevent a potential resurgence of COVID-19 cases upon opening up of educational institutions,” it reads, according to news agency KNO.
The notification states that “The dates for vaccination of all teaching, non-teaching staff as well as eligible students (batch-wise) may kindly be conveyed to DHSK at the earliest so that the vaccination sites are created at the places to be identified by you.”
DHSK has requested the educational institution authorities to take action at the earliest.
