Amid the row over Hijab in the south Indian state of Karnataka, a Muslim girl, Ilham has secured the second position in the state’s recently concluded PU exams.
Ilham, a PCMB science student of St Aloysius PU College Mangalore secured 597 out of 600 & became State’s Second Topper in Science Stream.

Elated over the results, Ilham said “I used to plan my studies and was studying daily.”
She wants to study clinical psychology. “Since my Class 10 days, I developed a fascination towards the working of the brain. I want to pursue a career in clinical psychology,” she was quoted by The Hind as saying.
Simran Rao of Bengaluru topped the examination in science stream with 598 marks.
